Samsung expands One UI 9 to more Galaxy devices
Samsung is expanding One UI 9 to more Galaxy devices, with the rollout starting today on the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra following its earlier debut on the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8, and Flip8. The update is built around a smoother, more consistent experience across form factors, paired with a deeper and more personalized version of Galaxy AI.
On capturing and managing content, My FanCam 2 automatically tracks a chosen person in recorded video and keeps them centered, reframing footage as the scene shifts, letting users turn moments like a child’s performance or a friend at a party into social-ready clips with less manual editing. Now Brief adds new Generative and Editable Cards, letting users customize what shows up in their daily summary across categories like health, weather, and video. Warranty and Care brings device support directly into Settings, letting users check warranty coverage, run self-diagnostics, view repair estimates, and manage Samsung Care+ or book service appointments in just a few taps.
For everyday efficiency, Now Nudge surfaces more context-aware suggestions throughout the Galaxy experience, such as pulling up reservation details or saving a shared location directly from a text conversation without breaking the flow. Creative Studio now suggests image-generation ideas tied to upcoming events, like prompting a themed birthday greeting when a friend’s birthday approaches. Interpreter adds a new Thread View for following translated conversations more easily by referencing earlier exchanges, along with faster translation in Conversation Mode and quicker playback through compatible Galaxy Buds. Document Scan improves handling of tricky materials like curved book pages or folded paper corners, aided by large-screen-optimized views and an improved Finger Eraser tool, while Voice Recorder now presents summaries in a more structured format using headings and tables for easier scanning.
On security and privacy, Security Brief adds key alerts, such as malware warnings, apps from unknown sources, and unnecessary permissions, directly into Now Brief, helping users spot potential issues earlier. Privacy Alerts uses on-device AI to flag potential privacy risks, including unnecessary background attempts to access permissions, giving users better visibility into how their data is being accessed. Scam Detection is also expanding to more countries and languages, extending protection against potential scam calls to a wider range of Galaxy users in supported markets.
