Canon’s EOS R8 Mark II Experience Tour starts in KL, with hands-on shoots and stops across Malaysia
Canon Malaysia’s latest public campaign, the “Created To Explore” EOS R8 Mark II Experience Tour 2026 has commenced, with the first stop in KL and moving through different parts of the country.
It gives photographers, videographers, and content creators a chance to try the recently introduced EOS R8 Mark II in real shooting situations, not just on a spec sheet. Canon says the aim is to take the camera beyond the launch stage and help creators step up into full-frame photography and content creation.
Canon Marketing Malaysia’s President and CEO, Masato Yoshiie, tied the tour to the company’s Kyosei philosophy of living and working together for the common good, saying photography is now about sharing your own ideas and perspectives. Edward Chang, Head of Division for the Image Communication Business, said Canon wants to stay close to the creative community and show how the camera fits into the way people actually create.
The KL event had talks from Canon EOS Specialist Marcus Choo, content creator ZY Cheng, and Canon EOS Master Johnson Wee, covering product insights and photography, videography, and content creation. Attendees also tried the camera across five curated shooting scenes:
- A live graffiti artist performance
- A model portrait shoot
- A dance battle
- A Muay Thai performance
- Skateboarding action
Canon will also run a “Created To Explore” photo contest at the KL, Penang, and Kuching main events. Attendees can share photos taken with the EOS R8 Mark II along with their impressions of the camera and programme.
With the KL stop wrapped up, the Penang and Kuching stations are slated for October 31 and November 7, with workshops being hosted across Kedah, Ipoh, Kota Bharu, Johor Bahru, Melaka, Kota Kinabalu, and Kuantan.
At selected stops, participants can buy the EOS R8 Mark II. Participating events also offer exclusive door gifts and free camera and lens cleaning for Canon equipment.
Registration is RM35 per person, on a first-come, first-served basis.
