Recently, OPPO released the new Reno11 Series and the starting price is RM1,899 – and that is the exact phone we’re doing the camera review on today. The OPPO Reno11 5G packs some serious hardware – Dimensity 7050 chipset 5,000mAh and also a triple-camera system.

The phone has a 50MP f/1.8 main camera with PDAF and OIS so anyone with shaky hands can still take great pictures – which is especially useful for night shots with long exposure. The ultrawide angle camera is pretty basic, an 8MP f/2.2 camera with fixed focus. The telephoto camera, however, is a special one as many phones at this price range do not come with one. The OPPO Reno 11 5G has a 32MP f/2.0 telephoto camera with a focal length of 47mm. That’s about 2x zoom compared to the main camera.

Now, does this phone take good pictures, though? Honestly, I think so. The main camera takes some good-looking pictures with good colors and also good clarity. Both indoors or outdoors, day or night – it takes good pictures overall.

When it comes to the ultrawide angle camera, it won’t have that much clarity but the colors are still great. I’d say for the ultrawide angle camera, it’s good enough for social media posts and I think that’s what most people are seeking to do anyway.

The telephoto camera is indeed quite good too. These shots were taken in a “point and shoot” manner as I am usually take pictures that way using my cameras as well. The pictures turned out great – fantastic colors, decent clarity, and most importantly – a sharp image. Overall, I’m pretty impressed by this telephoto camera overall.

I do wish there’s OIS for the telephoto camera since 2x magnification from the main camera means 2x the shakiness as well, and having an OIS system is is crucial to minimize or prevent blurry pictures. Having some software smartness to stabilize via EIS is also a good substitute.

Conclusion

The OPPO Reno11 5G has good cameras that will satisfy most users – especially at this price range. The cameras are quick, have consistent results, and take good images in all scenarios. Combined with that 5,000mAh battery, this phonee can last for a full day’s worth of photo-taking with no issues.
