Samsung’s 14-meter Onyx cinema LED unveiled at CinemaCon 2026
Samsung’s display tech has been around for some time, with one of their iconic solutions being the Onyx Cinema LED screens, which the latest SKU has been revealed at CinemaCon 2026, rocking an astounding 14-meter length.

Targeting the Premium Large Format auditoriums, this basically brings the renowned experience to a bigger space to fill larger halls with more seats without compromising visual quality.
From a tech standpoint, it’s still very much the same Onyx DNA, just scaled up. You’re getting up to 4K at 120Hz, which is already overkill for traditional cinema standards, along with a 3.3mm pixel pitch tuned specifically for this size. The more notable part is the modular scaling capable of expanding up to 20 meters by adding LED cabinets, effectively doubling the screen area while keeping the image consistent.
And since Onyx is a direct-view LED system rather than projection, it sidesteps a lot of the usual cinema limitations. You’re looking at peak brightness up to 300 nits, which is roughly 6 times brighter than standard projection – plus true blacks and infinite contrast, which is where LED really flexes compared to traditional setups. It also supports both common cinema aspect ratios, so studios don’t have to compromise on presentation.
Not only just about kino, but these screens can also be used for live sports, concerts, gaming events, and even corporate use. Thanks to the non-degrading brightness and image quality based on screen size and seating position, it can provide a more consistent experience for viewers across the board.
The Pathé’s premium complex in Rabat and Trilith Cinemas in Georgia have rolled out the latest Onyx screen, with more partners receiving it in the future.
