Samsung brings AI-focused software updates to select refrigerators and laundry appliances
Samsung has announced major software updates for select refrigerators and laundry appliances, with the Tizen OS 10.0 update rolling out from September to bring key services and features from its latest models to compatible existing appliances.
Following its initial rollout to select Bespoke AI Refrigerator Family Hub models in the U.S. in May, Samsung is expanding its latest AI-powered refrigerator features to more global markets. The update brings Google Gemini-powered AI Vision to compatible refrigerators with built-in cameras, including 21.5-inch and 32-inch Family Hub models released from 2021 to 2025, as well as select 9-inch models from 2025.
The enhanced AI Vision can recognize a wider range of fresh and packaged foods, including branded and region-specific items, helping users track stored ingredients more easily. Screen-based features such as Now Brief and What’s for Today? also provide personalized information and simplify daily meal planning.
Furthermore, Samsung is bringing its latest software features to select Bespoke AI Laundry Combo, Washer, and Dryer models released in 2024 and 2025. The update enhances Bixby’s voice recognition for more natural interactions, allowing users to ask questions such as when their laundry will be finished and receive a direct response.
Compatible models with 7-inch Smart Screens will also receive a refreshed interface with Easy Mode, simplifying controls and key information for easier navigation.
That said, the updates will roll out in phases starting from September 2026, with the timing, supported features, and availability varying depending on the product, model year, and market.
