World Photography Day 2026 goes live with Kingston highlighting its storage solutions
World Photography Day falls on August 19, and this year’s theme, HOME, focuses on the spaces, people and connections that make a place feel like home. To mark the occasion, Kingston is highlighting several storage solutions aimed at photographers and other creators dealing with increasingly large media files.
For creators working with high-resolution RAW images and 8K footage, the FURY Renegade G5 PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD sits at the high end of Kingston’s lineup. Available in capacities of up to 8TB, it offers read speeds of up to 14,800MB/s and write speeds of up to 14,000MB/s, along with over 2 million IOPS for demanding creative workloads.
The KC3000 PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD takes a more mainstream approach while still being aimed at heavier tasks such as 3D rendering and 4K-plus video editing. It delivers speeds of up to 7,000MB/s and uses a low-profile graphene aluminium heat spreader to help with thermal management.
For creators who spend more time shooting outside the studio, Kingston’s portable SSD range provides options for moving large photo and video files between devices. The XS2000 External SSD reaches USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 speeds of up to 2,000MB/s, while its IP55 rating and included rubber sleeve provide some added protection for on-location work. Kingston also says it can transfer a full hour of 4K footage in under 30 seconds and supports direct Apple ProRes recording.
The smaller XS1000 External SSD is built around portability, with speeds of up to 1,050MB/s in a pocket-sized form factor. It works across PCs, Macs, tablets and smartphones, making it useful for moving files between different devices.
There’s also the Dual Portable SSD, which features built-in USB Type-A and Type-C connectors, so users can connect it directly to different devices without carrying a separate cable. It offers USB 3.2 Gen 2 speeds of up to 1,050MB/s.
For those who do not need flagship-level performance, the NV3 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD provides a more affordable internal storage option. It uses a single-sided M.2 2280 design and comes in capacities of up to 4TB, with read speeds reaching 6,000MB/s and write speeds of up to 5,000MB/s.
Meanwhile, the DataTraveler Exodia M USB Flash Drive keeps things simple for everyday file storage and sharing. It features USB 3.2 Gen 1 connectivity, a moving cap and a key-ring loop, with capacities of up to 256GB.
