FABER Vintage Breakfast Series First Impression & User Experience

4 min read

It has come to my attention that the home appliances market is currently experiencing a vintage design renaissance. Just shop around and you will notice a vast selection of new appliances that comes with 1950s vintage design. Today I will be showcasing the FABER Vintage Breakfast series of appliances that includes a toaster, auto kettle, jug kettle and blender. Let’s find out what do I think of this series after spending about a week making breakfast with them.

FABER Vintage Breakfast Set

Left to Right: Jug Kettle, Toaster, Blender, Auto Kettle

The FABER Vintage Breakfast series is consists of 4 unique appliances, each piece in this series promises to deliver exceptional performance and style. The toaster features a 6-degree browning setting for the perfect golden toast; the kettles boast Strix Technology for durable protection; and the blender allows precise blending control with adjustable power levels.

FT-V8502 Toaster

I have to feature the toaster first because of two reasons:

  1. I am a big fan of roti bakar (toast)
  2. It has the best design out of the four.

FABER has done an excellent job at the design that even my wife agrees that it looks absolutely stunning. The beige colour coated stainless steel body paired with chrome accents hits the right spot.

Cable management route

The toaster unit is made out of the combination of stainless steel and plastic. Of course that includes the tastefully chromed plastic to level the cost and aesthetics.

As usual, the toaster accommodates two slices of bread.

Buttons and knob made up of the toaster’s control. The “Toaster Gear” has 6-levels of browning settings.

Pretty straightforward as you just set your preferred configuration, set the toast in place and wait for the pop.

I personally find that level-2 makes the best toast.

Removable crumb tray for easy cleaning.

Auto Kettle FK-V218

A standard electric kettle with a touch of 1950s.

Analogue temperature gauge.

The kettle has 1.7 litre capacity and the power switch is located right underneath the water level indicator.

The base with cable management route.

The kettle sits on the base that closes the electrical circuit.

Stainless steel lid.

A quick glance into the kettle and you’ll notice the heating element is hidden from sight.

What you see is a detachable filter that can be take out for cleaning.

Kettle Jug FK-V217

If you don’t like the roundish kettle design, perhaps this jug kettle is for you. As the name suggests, it is shaped like a normal water jug and most of the people should be familiar with this “modern” design.

We still get an analogue temperature gauge, albeit slightly smaller than the auto kettle.

The jug kettle also comes with a base.

Transparent water level indicator and power switch.

The stainless steel lid is slightly bigger than the auto kettle, also without the handle getting in the way.

Hidden heating element except the thermometer pitot is visible.

Which one is your favourite?

Blender FBG-V515

Last but not least, the blender.

Stainless steel body with a vintage touch to it. The blender has 2 speeds and supports pulse blending.

Vents for cooling the motor.

Attaching the jug is as simple as slotting the jug into position, no additional locking required as the design relies on the jug’s weight to lock it in place.

Star-shaped interlocking gear to drive the blender blade.

Thumbs up to FABER for including a glass jar for this blender set. Glass jars indeed offer several advantages, including longevity, ease of cleaning, and the absence of potential chemical leaching from plastic. While they may be heavier, many users find the durability and aesthetic appeal of glass to be well worth it.

The blade mechanism can be easily disassembled for cleaning. This makes maintenance much more convenient and ensures that you can thoroughly clean all the nooks and crannies where food particles may get stuck. I have included a reel of how I made papaya milk drink using the blender.

Verdict

The Faber Vintage Breakfast Series brings a touch of retro charm to your kitchen with its stylish design. At the same time, delivering on functionality with a toaster, kettles for different needs, and a powerful blender. While some specific features might still be missing from the appliances, nonetheless they have all the basics covered especially for those who love aesthetics alongside everyday breakfast prep.
