Performance & Battery Life

Snapdragon 430, 3 GB RAM & 32 GB storage

ASUS ZenFone 4 Max Pro Review

Raw power performance is something missing from this phone. Resource demanding apps such as games would run sluggishly and that is what the limitations from them Snapdragon 430 SoC. Throughout my review period, regular tasks such as social media apps and instant messaging apps still run fine on it without any hiccups. So it is definitely for those who looking for a lower priced smartphones without sacrificing the basic performance.

Then again, with Snapdragon 450 out and available in the market now, the Snapdragon 430 is definitely inferior to it. Especially the SD450 has FinFET fabrication process which will lead to even better power efficiency.

Battery

Despite running the less efficient SD430, thanks to the 5000 mAh battery, the phone still managed to last a whole day of usage without having the need to plug in. As seen above screenshot is after 17 hours unplugged, with 3 hours of screen-on-time, we still have over 50% battery left. If only if ASUS has opted for an SD450, I’m sure we would have achieved over 48 hours without charging and 10 hours of screen-on-time for a single full charge.

No Quick Charge

Then, here’s the painful part of the whole battery life experience – charging. Comes in the box is a 5V2A charging adapter and it takes a whole 5 hours to fully charge the 5000 mAh battery from 0% to 100%.
