Entries for the 2026 James Dyson Award are now open worldwide, calling on aspiring inventors
The 2026 James Dyson Award is now open for entries worldwide, inviting the next generation of inventors to submit designs and engineering solutions tackling real-world challenges.
With entries open from 11 March to 15 July 2026, the award is organized by the James Dyson Foundation and is open to current engineering and design students, as well as recent graduates, encouraging submissions of innovative solutions to real-world challenges.
Since its inception in 2005, the James Dyson Award has supported emerging inventors through funding and international exposure, helping accelerate the development and realization of promising ideas.
At the national level, Malaysia’s National Winner will be announced on 9 September 2026 and will receive RM27,160. Selected entries will then progress to the Global Top 20 shortlist, chosen by Dyson engineers and revealed on 14 October 2026.
The final Global Winners, selected by Sir James Dyson, will then be announced on 4 November 2026, each receiving RM162,999 along with international recognition to help bring their innovations to a wider audience.
