Taiwan Smart Solutions Connect 2026 joins Malaysia and Taiwan in advancing industries with AI and smart techs
The Taiwan Smart Solutions Connect 2026 event successfully brought together Taiwan and Malaysia to allow the embedding of Taiwan’s AI and smart technology ecosystem directly into Malaysia’s industrial transformation agenda.
Organized by the Taiwan International Trade Administration (TITA) and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the gathering featured 26 Taiwanese tech companies showcasing deployable AI solutions, moving beyond mere concepts or prototypes.
As southbound markets accelerate, Taiwan is positioning itself not just as a hardware supplier but as a strategic AI implementation partner for industries undergoing operational restructuring. The focus was placed across four key areas: Smart Manufacturing, Smart Cities & Energy, Enterprise Digital Transformation, and Smart Healthcare. In manufacturing, discussions centered on using generative AI for predictive maintenance and defect detection, alongside digital twin systems designed to optimize production lifecycles.
The event highlighted a structured bilateral alignment, marked by the attendance of representatives from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office and MATRADE. Industry groups like the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturing (FMM) reinforced the focus on how automation and AI are crucial for distributed manufacturing models to remain competitive.
To facilitate direct collaboration, Taiwanese firms hosted sessions featuring high-intensity 3-minute pitches, which immediately led to one-on-one business matching. This allowed Malaysian companies to assess integration feasibility on the spot, bypassing long evaluation processes.
Ultimately, the connect emphasized that AI is no longer optional infrastructure, as it is becoming the necessary foundation for industrial survival and expansion, and this event has done just that while strengthening the connection in business and supply chain.
