Signify hosted a Philips Hue experience session for the members of the media to get to know better of the future of personal wireless lighting system.

Philips Hue Experience

Philips Hue was introduced in 2012 and I personally has been a fan of the system since its inception. I believe that the future of lighting would be highlight customisable and personal. Especially when the system was made available to Malaysian back in 2017, I manage to get myself a starter kit together with a Hue light strip to review.

To date, it is still one of my favourite home tech I’ve ever owned.

The lighting quality is top notch and the connected nature makes it the most versatile lighting system you could ever find. Through the mobile and desktop app, users are able to adjust the optimum colour and brightness, setting up timers as well as linking up with third-party applications to automate your home’s lighting setup.

Earlier this year, we also see the collaboration between Philips Hue and Razer to elevate their gaming entertainment experience. With the latest release of Hue Sync desktop app, the Hue ecosystem can now work seamlessly with video and music played on a PC or MAC computer as well. During the interview session with Alston Foo, Head of Consumer Channel of Signify in Singapore and Malaysia, we came to know that the team behind Philips Hue has been working hard to expand the Hue ecosystem. We can expect to see more Hue connected applications to come in the near future.

Getting Started

A starter pack includes three white and colour ambience bulbs that simply screw into existing lamps and a bridge that plugs into a home Wi-Fi router.
