Midea APAC Conference

Midea recently held its first-ever Asia-Pacific dealer conference in Bali, bringing together over 450 regional partners under the theme “Power of One.” The event highlighted Midea’s unified pursuit of global leadership in smart home appliances through technological innovation, local manufacturing, and sustainable growth.

The theme of “Power of One” reflects the 3 pillars of technology leadership, local-for-local capabilities, and strong partnerships, with the conference featuring 5 experiential zones showcasing 150 products that embody Midea’s innovation-first philosophy.

Among them were AI-driven solutions under SMART MASTER and AI ECOMASTER, which use intelligent cooling, real-time air purification, and energy optimization to cut power consumption by up to 30%. The SPACE MASTER series demonstrated space-efficient home designs, while Residential Air-Conditioners and Midea Building Technologies (MBT) showcased durability and energy efficiency tailored for regional climates and large-scale infrastructure.

Backed by over USD 10 billion in R&D investment over the past five years and a team of 23,000 professionals, Midea continues to drive innovation across its global operations as the company holds more than 100,000 patents and contributes to nearly 2,000 technology standards, reinforcing its position as a leader in AI, robotics, and new energy. By 2028, they plan to invest an additional CNY 50 billion (USD 6.96 billion) in next-generation technologies, including its landmark humanoid household robot, MIRA.

In APAC, Midea’s growth strategy emphasizes local integration and service excellence. With nine manufacturing facilities across Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia, the company’s Thailand factory stands out as Southeast Asia’s first fully 5G-connected World Economic Forum Lighthouse Factory, achieving over 40% energy savings per unit and a 68.3% cut in carbon emissions. To enhance after-sales support, the Midea Club App now streamlines service management for technicians, while over 200 annual training events are conducted to upskill 30,000 engineers in the next three years.

In Malaysia, Midea reinforces its local commitment through regular technical training sessions to maintain service quality and elevate customer satisfaction. This initiative aligns with the brand’s community engagement efforts, which include disaster relief, elderly care donations, and youth development programs like its partnership with the Persatuan Badminton Negeri Kelantan.

Recognized in S&P Global’s Sustainability Yearbook (China Edition) 2025, Midea continues to expand its ESG initiatives regionally. In Bali, for instance, the brand supported coral restoration projects, planting over 1,000 corals with the Mangrove Indonesia Lestari Foundation. Mr. Jiang emphasized that coral planting represents more than environmental preservation – it’s a commitment to biodiversity and community resilience.

Meanwhile, Midea’s global visibility continues to grow through sports partnerships, including its role as Main Partner Sleeve Sponsor of FC Barcelona and ongoing collaborations with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and Manchester City Football Club.
