The METAEDU 21 event has wrapped up completely last month with a blast and we are to give a little recap of what happened over there.

METAEDU 2

Organized by Taiwan’s Industrial Development Bureau (IDB), the administrative agency of the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Taiwan, in collaboration with the Institute for Information Industry (III) and Digital Education Institute (DEI), the event runs on a seminar/webinar hybrid model that gathers the industry players in the education technology (EdTech) where they have given insight, shared experience and laid out future visions for the transformation of the academic sector that have already occurred underway in response to the global pandemic.

According to the 2021 Taiwan EdTech Industry Survey Report, EdTech in Taiwan has outputted a total of USD16.4 billion which is a 220.9% growth compared to 2020. Crazy right? Yes, and the boom of EdTech is contributed by the demands for teaching hardware that covers more than 80% of the multi-billion figure with the rest of them being communication products, cloud video, and learning platforms, and teaching assistive devices, among other deployment requirements. Therefore, METAEDU 21 strives to bring long-term collaborations between industry players and stakeholders across the world to accelerate and stabilize the growth of EdTech for the coming years.

The event is shaped around 3 major themes: Innovative Diffusion, Talent Cultivation, and Ecosystem Integration across 5 days from November 1 to November 5 with the HolonIQ online forum during the 1st day being the core highlight as many award-winning companies have shared their business ideas and future development plans and I kid you not, HolonIQ is the world’s leading impact intelligence platform that has helped EdTech events in Middle East, Africa, Asia to accelerate forward with Taiwan receiving the Taiwan 50 EdTech award for the very first time.

For the other 3 days, there’re online webinars including the 2021 International Reading Education Online Forum where experts from the Southeast Asia Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) and representatives from the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Communications (Pusdatin) are invited to explore and share the goal of digital equality through technology with the last day covering the financial subcategory as international investment experts, overseas startup teams and research institutions giving talks about the aspect of delivering investment cooperation and the necessary conditions alongside from trends, transformation and future expectations for EdTech.

The event highlights and some other nitty-gritty details can be acquired through the official recap video down below.
