Canon Malaysia releases the new EOS R6 V full-frame camera and RF20-50mm f/4L IS USM PZ lens

Canon Malaysia has unveiled a new content creation kit featuring the EOS R6 V full-frame camera and the RF20-50mm f/4L IS USM PZ, its first full-frame L-series lens with a built-in power zoom.

The Canon EOS R6 V features 7K Open Gate RAW/MP4 recording using the full sensor area, giving creators greater flexibility when reframing content for different platforms, especially vertical formats. A built-in cooling fan extends 7K recording duration by around three times compared to the EOS R6 Mark III.

Designed with vertical content creation in mind, the EOS R6 V includes a dedicated vertical tripod socket, an auto-rotating interface, and a streamlined body for easy integration with rigs and accessories. It also supports front-facing controls and remote operation via the Camera Connect app or BR-E2 wireless controller for flexible solo shooting.

Paired with the RF20-50mm f/4L IS USM PZ, the system forms a compact and lightweight setup ideal for handheld or gimbal use. The combined stabilisation system—In-Body IS, Digital Movie IS, and Optical IS—works together with Subject Tracking IS to deliver smooth, stable footage.

The lens also offers a versatile 20–50mm range with a constant f/4 aperture, supporting both wide environmental shots and close-up framing. Its built-in power zoom enables smooth transitions with adjustable zoom speeds, while internal zoom mechanics maintain balance during rig use without requiring reconfiguration.

In stills mode, the EOS R6 V delivers 32.5MP full-frame image quality with strong detail and dynamic range, supporting up to 40 fps continuous shooting with advanced autofocus and pre-shooting capabilities. It also offers up to 7.5 stops of in-body stabilisation, which works in tandem with the lens’s optical stabilisation for enhanced stability.

The RF20-50mm lens is designed for optical precision, minimising distortion, chromatic aberration, and flare while performing reliably in low-light conditions. It delivers high image quality suitable for both video and photography workflows.

Furthermore, the system supports professional filmmaking features such as Canon Log 2/3, custom LUTs, waveform monitoring, 4-channel audio, HDMI Type-A output, and creative modes like Colour Filters and Slow & Fast Motion, positioning it as a versatile and cost-efficient hybrid solution for creators.
