Biwin showcases new Amber UV200 USB drive made for car dashcams
Biwin’s latest product squarely focuses on car recording, specifically dashcams and parking surveillance, and they are doing it with the new Amber UV200.
The USB 3.2 Gen1 flash drive can reach up to 200 MB/s read and 80 MB/s write speeds, while maintaining at least 60 MB/s sustained write performance even at full capacity. That consistency is particularly useful for continuous recording applications such as multi-channel dashcam footage and extended parking surveillance.
Its compact, low-profile design is also intended to stay out of the way inside the car. The integrated MUDP structure helps prevent the drive from blocking nearby USB ports or protruding too far into the cabin.
Since cars can expose storage devices to fairly harsh conditions, the UV200 is rated for operating temperatures between -25°C and 75°C, with storage tolerance ranging from -40°C to 85°C. It also offers protection against drops of up to 1 metre for added durability during handling.
Underneath, the UV200 uses high-endurance 3D TLC NAND designed for the repetitive overwrite cycles associated with dashcam and surveillance loop recording. That is an important distinction from conventional flash drives, which are generally designed around occasional file transfers rather than constantly writing and replacing data.
The drive starts at 128GB and isn’t limited to recording duties. It can also be used to store high-quality FLAC and WAV music libraries for playback through compatible vehicle systems.
Despite being designed with cars in mind, the UV200 can also be connected to laptops and desktops, making it easier to transfer recorded footage, music and other files between the vehicle and a home or office.
The UV200 comes in a Midnight Violet finish and is backed by a 3-year limited warranty.
