ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2: What we know so far

2 min read

The ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 is probably one of my favourite smartphones of 2018. While it may not have a super powerful SoC to couple with the device, neither did the camera could out-perform any of those flagship level devices. Despite so, I still find myself coming back to the phone because of its amazing battery life and reasonably good performance.

With that being said, the Max Pro M1 has been well received by the locals for its value for money proposition. For RM 699, you are getting a phone with Snapdragon 636, 3GB RAM, and a humongous 5000mAh battery. That’s why I have been carrying the Max Pro M1 with the SIM card as my secondary phone for WiFi hotspot, while my primary phone (Mi A2) handles the photo taking and social media.

Same Success Formula

Once again, the new ZenFone Max Pro M2 will be replicating the same formula that made the M1 such a successful phone.

Performance, Battery Life & Value

According to WinFuture’s leak, the Max Pro M2 will sport a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor and the base model now should come with 4GB RAM instead of 3GB. The top end model will have 6GB RAM while the storage option would be 64GB and 128GB.

The most prominent change is no other than the notched display at the front. The 6.3-inch IPS LCD sports a 19.5:9 aspect ratio with 2340 x 1080 pixels resolution.

The battery, once again, will be the same impressive 5,000mAh capacity yet ASUS manage to keep the weight lower than the Max Pro M1. We’ll keep our eyes peeled until the day we got our hands on to the phone.

Available on 12.12 Sales

It has been known to us that the official launch date will be on 11th December 2018 over at Indonesia. Apparently, the phone will be made available in Malaysia starting 12th December as well, in conjunction to the 12.12 mega sales on Lazada.

ASUS has purposely put a dummy photo and price just so that they could register the product for the sales before it goes official. Pretty sure it is intentional given the phone has already passed SIRIM certification.
