Sony releases all-new FE 100mm F2.8 Macro GM OSS Telephoto Macro Lens
Sony has unveiled the latest FE 100mm F2.8 Macro GM OSS (SEL100M28GM), its first medium telephoto macro lens in the G Master lineup, boasting 1.4x magnification, enhanced stabilisation, user-friendly controls, and compatibility with Alpha series E-mount cameras.
Delivering up to 1.4x magnification, the FE 100mm F2.8 Macro GM OSS is capable of capturing intricate textures and details of flowers, small objects, and other close-up subjects with impressive clarity. When paired with an optional teleconverter, magnification extends to 2.8x, allowing striking macro shots from a comfortable distance, ideal for delicate subjects or avoiding reflections.
The lens incorporates two XA and two ED elements in its optical design to ensure sharp resolution across the frame while minimizing chromatic and other aberrations. For precise control in macro photography, it includes dedicated focus tools: a Full-time DMF switch for instant manual focus, a Focus Mode switch for quick AF/MF transitions, and a Sliding Focus Ring for full manual operation with distance and magnification scales.
Driven by four XD linear motors, autofocus is up to 1.9x faster than previous models, while a dedicated aperture ring provides direct, intuitive control.
Furthermore, the lens delivers the iconic G Master creamy bokeh with its 11-blade circular aperture and refined spherical aberration control. Sony’s Nano AR Coating II also reduces flare and ghosting for clear results, while built-in optical image stabilization compensates for multiple types of camera shake to ensure sharp, steady handheld macro shots.

The new Sony FE 100mm F2.8 Macro GM OSS lens is now open for pre-order at RM5,999, and is set to hit the market by November 2025.
