Sony enhances BURANO with free Infrared Cut Filter replacement

Sony has unveiled an upgraded Infrared (IR) cut filter designed to enhance color reproduction on the BURANO digital cinema camera, which is available to existing BURANO users as a complimentary upgrade.

The IR cut filter replacement is available free of charge — including parts and labor — until 30th June 2026. The service is offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and BURANO owners can contact the regional Sony service center to schedule the replacement.

Worth noting is that units that already feature a protrusion on the upper part of the front optical filter assembly come equipped with the updated IR cut filter and do not require replacement.
