Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 First Look: Sleek and Sexy
Samsung just unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold7, a book-style foldable with significant changes. The theme? Expect “Ultra” changes to the Z Fold family.
Design & Look

This year’s colors are good: Blue Shadow, Jet Black, Silver Shadow, and an online-exclusive Mint.

The Z Fold7 is much thinner and lighter. It’s 8.90mm when folded and just 4.2mm unfolded, barely thicker than a USB-C port (excluding the camera bump). Its weight is down to 215 grams, even lighter than the S25 Ultra (218 grams).

Responding to popular requests, the Z Fold7 is now 64.9mm wider when folded, essentially making the front display wider. Samsung says this helps with virtual typing, but for swipe typers, it might not be a big deal.
Hinge & Screen

The new Armor FlexHinge is smaller. The inner screen now folds with a water droplet design and a multi-rail structure. The display is strengthened by a Grade 4 Titanium Lattice. The ultra-thin glass is now 50% thicker with new adhesive for better durability.
The unfolded screen is an 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, 11% larger. However, the under-display camera is gone, leaving a black hole. Also, there’s no S Pen support at all. These changes likely helped achieve its thin design.
Power & Battery
The Galaxy Z Fold7 uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset. Gaming performance should be similar to other recent thin foldables. Battery capacity (4,400mAh) and charging speed (25W) are unchanged.
“Ultra” Cameras

The camera bump is thick but placed on the side. Samsung finally shares the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s 200MP main camera with Z Fold7. The 12MP ultrawide now has autofocus. The 10MP telephoto camera remains the same.
Both inner and outer selfie cameras are upgraded to 10MP sensors with a wider 100° angle. Post-processing improves with a next-gen ProVisual Engine for better noise removal and 10-bit HDR video support.
Software & Updates
The Z Fold7 ships with One UI 8. It includes new AI experiences with Google’s Gemini and a better UI for large screens. Circle To Search can now be used in games for guides.
Samsung promises 7 generations of Android OS support and 7 years of security updates.
That’s our initial look at the Galaxy Z Fold7. Also, check out other devices announced, like the Galaxy Z Flip7 series and Galaxy Watch8 series.
