Protecting Humanity in the AI Age: World Partners with Visa, Match Group, and Razer

Tiago Sada

In an era where AI-generated content and deepfake scams are on the rise, a new solution is emerging to help us prove our “humanness” online. World, a human-first network, recently unveiled significant updates and partnerships at its “At Last” event in San Francisco. These collaborations mark a major leap forward in World’s mission to establish a global standard for verifying human identity online, crucial in combating identity theft, bots, and deepfake impersonations.

World is integrating its privacy-first World ID technology with industry giants like Visa, Match Group (Tinder’s parent company), and Razer.

Here’s how World ID is set to revolutionize our digital interactions:

  • Financial Security with Visa: The new World Visa Card will directly connect to the World App, allowing users to spend WLD (Worldcoin) and other digital assets wherever Visa is accepted. This offers a new layer of security and convenience for digital currency transactions.
  • Authentic Connections on Dating Apps: Match Group, the company behind Tinder, will integrate World ID to protect users from fake accounts. Starting with Tinder in Japan, this feature will enable individuals to confirm they are interacting with real people, not bots or AI fakes, without compromising privacy.
  • Human-Only Gaming Experiences with Razer: Razer, a leader in gaming hardware, will roll out World ID across its ecosystem. This means exclusive human-only gaming experiences, including special eSports tournaments and in-store Orb verification points.

These advancements are particularly timely, especially in regions like Malaysia, where online scams are becoming increasingly sophisticated. Reports show a rise in financial losses from love scams, and authorities have warned about deepfake manipulation used to falsely claim government endorsement and promise high returns.

As Sam Altman, Chairman and co-founder of Tools For Humanity, stated at the “At Last” event, “We needed some sort of way for authenticating humans in the age of artificial general intelligence… We needed a way that we could know what content was made by humans, and what was made by AI.” World ID offers a secure and private method for Malaysians to prove their humanness online without revealing personal information like their name, phone number, or email.

World ID leverages zero-knowledge proofs and encryption, allowing for a one-time verification via passport or Orb, which can then be carried across the internet. This is especially relevant for Malaysians seeking more trusted interactions on social apps, digital wallets, and community platforms where AI impersonation risks are growing.

Globally, over 26 million users have already joined the World Network, with 12 million having completed Orb verification. In Malaysia alone, more than half a million people have verified their humanness through the Orb, with over 40 verification sites available across East and West Malaysia.

You can join the network by downloading the World App on iOS or Android and verifying your identity through Orb or a passport. The app provides access to a growing ecosystem of mini-apps and services built on the World Network, where every interaction begins with proof of personhood.
