The last mountain king of Japanese TV has crumbled – Panasonic sells TV operations to China’s Skyworth
Panasonic has announced they are out of the TV market by selling everything related to the product to Shenzhen Skyworth Display Technology Co Ltd, or Skyworth for short.

Under the agreement, Skyworth will take the lead on sales, marketing, and logistics in Europe, while Panasonic stays closely involved on the technical side, including full joint development on top-end OLED models to make sure the brand’s audiovisual reputation stays intact. This shift also lines up with a bigger internal change at Panasonic, as its Entertainment Division will reintegrate into Panasonic Corporation from April 1 later this year.
Panasonic mentioned that they will continue to stick around to handle after-sales support in Europe for all Panasonic TVs sold up to March 2026, as well as models available from April onward.
With the big P following the steps of Sony, which sold off its iconic Bravia name and operations to TCL a couple of months ago, home entertainment displays that are exclusively manufactured and owned by a Japanese firm are now part of human history.
