Nikon is shaking up the cinema camera world, moving beyond its mirrorless hybrid lineup to launch its first dedicated cinema body in the new Z CINEMA series—the Nikon ZR. The Nikon ZR is the smallest model in the Z CINEMA series, yet it packs some serious cinematic precision. Co-developed with RED Digital Cinema, Inc., a subsidiary of Nikon, the ZR is a full-frame sensor camera engineered to excel whether you’re in a studio or shooting in the great outdoors.

• Internal 6K RAW: Say goodbye to external recorders! The ZR captures stunning 6K RAW video internally in multiple formats, including R3D NE, N-RAW, and ProRes RAW HQ. This marks the first integration of the RED R3D NE codec into a Nikon camera.
• World’s First 32-bit Float Audio: This is a game-changer! The ZR boasts the world’s first native 32-bit float audio recording via its 3.5mm jack. This massive dynamic range means virtually no clipping, even when using just the internal microphone.

• New Audio Accessory: The optional ME-D10 Shotgun Microphone is fully 32-bit float compatible, requires no batteries or cables, and attaches directly to the new digital accessory shoe. It offers PURE and FOCUS recording modes to capture either rich ambient sound or clean, isolated voice.

Price and Local Availability

The Nikon ZR is now available for pre-order through authorised dealers nationwide in Malaysia. The camera is expected to be available for purchase in late October 2025.
