LG previews its vision for AI-driven car cabins for CES 2026
Among all the electronics and technologies to be showcased at CES 2026, LG will be having a unique segment dedicated to showcasing how its “Affectionate Intelligence” AI solution could be integrated into a reimagined vehicle cabin, where AI reshapes the driver, front passenger and rear seating areas into something far more human-centered and intuitive, designed to make every ride feel smoother and more personal.

At the heart of the showcase are three core experiential solutions. The Mobility Display Solution turns the windshield itself into an intelligent interface, the Automotive Vision Solution focuses on safety and context-aware information using Vision AI, and the In-Vehicle Entertainment Solution delivers personalized content, memory-based media, and even real-time translation for passengers.
In the Mobility Display Solution zone, LG shows how AI can surface just the right information at the right time through a transparent OLED-equipped windshield. As a car approaches a traffic light, for example, the system displays the remaining wait time directly above the signal, while in autonomous driving mode, the windshield transforms the outside world into an immersive visual experience, with cherry blossom petals drifting across tree-lined roads or a dull tunnel turning into an enchanted forest.
The Automotive Vision Solution takes things further by using LG’s Automotive Vision System to track driver and passenger movement, gaze direction, attention, clothing color and gestures in real time. This allows the system to understand how occupants are feeling and respond accordingly, while eye tracking, gesture control and anamorphic display graphics enhance immersion. In one scenario, if a front passenger looks at an advertisement on a building during autonomous driving, the system can recognize their gaze and instantly bring up related product information on the passenger display, enabling seamless discovery and even purchasing.
Rounding things out, the In-Vehicle Entertainment Solution focuses on making time on the road more meaningful. By recognizing scenery outside the vehicle, AI can surface photos linked to past memories from that location on the window display, letting passengers share those moments in real time through video calls. On long trips, the system recommends entertainment based on individual preferences, and in another use case, it can even translate sign language into on-screen text to support smoother communication with people outside the vehicle.
