Kingston wins again for 2024 in global DRAM module supplier leaderboard by TrendForce

Kingston has once again secured its position as the world’s top third-party DRAM module supplier, according to the latest data from analyst firm TrendForce. The company retained its leadership for the 22nd consecutive year with an estimated 66% market share, further solidifying its dominance in the global memory market.

Kingston DRAM Chart 2024

TrendForce’s 2024 report showed that DRAM module sales grew 7% year-over-year, marking a recovery from the sharp 28% decline in 2023. Despite weaker consumer demand in the latter half of 2024, Kingston maintained a strong sales performance while the top five module houses together accounted for 81% of total revenue. The report also noted that the second-place supplier held only a 5% share, underscoring Kingston’s overwhelming lead.

Shifts in market strategy also influenced the year’s outcome. As DRAM suppliers prioritized high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and server-grade DDR5 products in late 2023, supply tightened for other DRAM types, causing prices to climb. This prompted module makers to restock inventories, driving total market revenue to $13.3 billion in 2024. However, rising prices in the second half of the year began to temper demand and limit further growth.

Kingston continued to strengthen its product portfolio through innovation, introducing the Kingston FURY Renegade DDR5 RGB Limited Edition with a racecar-inspired curved design and speeds reaching 8000MT/s for extreme overclocking. The company also released the Kingston FURY Renegade DDR5 CUDIMMs, compatible with Intel’s new 800-series chipset, aimed at professionals seeking high performance without sacrificing stability.
