Kingston has launched the Dual Portable SSD, marking the company’s first cable-free solid-state drive and signaling a push toward more convenient portable storage solutions.

The device adopts a flash drive-like design with a compact metal casing and integrates both USB-A and USB-C connectors, allowing seamless transfers between laptops, desktops, and mobile devices. With USB 3.2 Gen 2 performance offering up to 1,050MB/s read and 950MB/s write speeds, the SSD aims to serve creators and everyday users handling large media libraries or 4K footage.

The compact drive weighs just 13g, measures under 72mm in length and features 3D NAND, a metal-plastic build, and operating support from 0°C to 60°C. Its broad compatibility spans Windows 11, macOS, Linux, Chrome OS, Android and iOS/iPadOS (v.13+), making it as a versatile option for users working across multiple platforms.

Available in 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB configurations, the drive is backed by a five-year limited warranty and free technical support, as well being purchasable in Malaysia right now.
