Kingston captured 36 % of global channel SSD shipments in 2024 to maintain first place on the chart
Kingston has reinforced its position as the dominant force in the SSD market, with TrendForce naming it the number one third-party supplier in the global channel for 2024.

The report shows Kingston commanding a substantial 36 percent share of worldwide SSD shipments, extending its lead over the second-place competitor, which held just 13 percent. This happened even with the broader retail SSD market faced pressure driven by weak consumer demand and notebook attach rates that have already reached saturation, resulting in a 14 percent year-over-year decline in channel shipments. TrendForce notes that AI adoption across PCs and edge devices is emerging as the next catalyst for high-performance, high-capacity SSD growth. Brands prioritizing technical innovation and strategic channel positioning are expected to benefit as demand shifts.

Kingston spent 2024 expanding across every major SSD segment. Its NV3 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD brought compact, high-capacity 4×4 performance to its client lineup, while the DC2000B PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD was introduced to meet data center requirements for reliable server boot drives.
The newly unveiled red XS1000 External SSD, which earned a 2024 Red Dot Award for Product Design, further strengthened Kingston’s consumer offerings. Meanwhile, the company refreshed its Industrial SSD range with next-generation locked-BOM models engineered for high-demand scenarios such as kiosks, robotics, digital signage, POS systems, and surveillance deployments. Together, these moves position Kingston to capitalize on the next phase of SSD market growth as AI-driven workloads reshape storage requirements.
