Canon Malaysia introduces the new full-frame EOS R6 Mark III camera and RF45mm F1.2 STM lens
Canon Malaysia has unveiled its latest full-frame camera, the EOS R6 Mark III camera, alongside the new RF45mm F1.2 STM large-aperture standard prime lens. Here’s a look at what they bring to the table.
Building on its predecessor’s success, the Canon EOS R6 Mark III introduces a 32.5-megapixel sensor that delivers sharper detail and greater cropping flexibility — ideal for capturing distant subjects. Despite the higher resolution, it maintains impressive shooting speeds of up to 40 fps (electronic shutter) and 12 fps (mechanical), with the ability to record around 150 continuous shots.
On top of that, the new pre-continuous shooting mode captures up to 20 frames before the shutter is fully pressed, while the enhanced autofocus system offers improved subject tracking and the Register People Priority function (inherited from the flagship EOS R1) for precise detection in group or event photography.
Furthermore, the EOS R6 Mark III supports 7K 60p internal RAW recording and is the first EOS R model to offer 3:2 Open Gate capture (up to 7K 30p RAW). This enables flexible reframing for both horizontal and vertical content, while simultaneous recording of proxy or 4K DCI MP4 files simplifies post-production workflows.

Moving on, the RF45mm F1.2 STM is Canon’s first f/1.2 lens in its class, offering a compact, lightweight, and affordable option for users seeking rich bokeh and strong low-light performance. Its 45mm focal length delivers a natural perspective ideal for both wide environmental scenes and close-up portraits, while on APS-C cameras, it provides a 72mm equivalent view perfect for street or portrait photography.
Weighing only 346g, it is currently the smallest f/1.2 lens in Canon’s EF and RF lineup, made possible by advanced PMo aspherical elements, gear-type STM autofocus, and digital lens correction. The RF45mm F1.2 STM also pairs seamlessly with full-frame models like the EOS R6 Mark III or compact APS-C cameras such as the EOS R50, providing excellent mobility.
