Biwin Amber CB500 sets new benchmark as the first CFexpress Type B card with VPG800 certification
Biwin’s latest storage product comes in the form of the Amber CB500 CFexpress Type B card, and it is shipped under the recognition of being the world’s 1st VPG800-certified card.
Engineered for speed and reliability, the Amber CB500 is rated to deliver read speeds up to 3750 MB/s and write speeds up to 3500 MB/s, enabling seamless recording of 4K, 6K, 8K, and even 12K RAW footage. When paired with the Biwin Amber RB510 high-speed card reader, it can reach transfer speeds of up to 40 Gb/s, drastically cutting down file offloading and post-production times.
VPG800, part of the Video Performance Guarantee Profile 5.0 specification, ensures sustained write performance during extended recording sessions. This certification makes the CB500 particularly suited for professional workflows such as oversampled 4K and 6K recording, virtual production on LED stages, multi-camera live broadcasting, and immersive VR/AR content creation.
Biwin also emphasized durability and thermal efficiency in its design through the aluminum alloy casing with thermal conductive gel to manage heat effectively during high-bitrate recording, maintaining stability across long shoots. It is also built to withstand harsh environments, offering shockproof, drop-proof, wear-resistant, magnetic-proof, and X-ray protection, with an operating temperature range from -12°C to +72°C.
